The Northwest Local School District (NLSD) is pleased to inform you that we have joined a nationwide community effort to make our school Heart Safe with Project ADAM. This decision is a result of our wish to ensure that our district is prepared to provide an immediate response to someone suffering a cardiac emergency.
Through our cooperative efforts with Project ADAM led by Nationwide Children’s Hospital we have joined hundreds of schools throughout the nation in preparing our school for a life-threatening emergency. This program enables us to offer any person who may experience a sudden cardiac arrest the best chance of survival.
NLSD was designated a Project ADAM heart safe school on 2/13/2025. They are the second school in Scioto County to work through the checklist and successfully complete the sudden cardiac arrest drill. The district volunteers successfully implemented a quality sudden cardiac arrest program which built awareness, screening, training, and an effective emergency response to promote a Heart Safe environment for students, visitors and staff.
Congratulations team members and thank you for all your hard work. We had several staff members that volunteered to make this designation possible. Thanks goes to Ben Reed, Melyssa Shannon, Bethany McNutt, Megan Kingrey, Tracy Adkins, Alexis Graf, Stacy Sommers, Belinda Thomas, Teresa Brown, Lajohna Throckmorton, Jason Burton, Crystal Howard, Ronda Sissel, Melissa Adams, Jerry Barlow, Doug Montavon, Sharon Redoutey, Brandon Doss, Brooks Fry, Lindsay Doss, Lora Alexander, Jennifer South, Julie McCain, John Storer, Debbie Pertuset, Chris Enz, Andrew Ottens, and Drew Scarberry.
