Message from the Principals

Dear Students and Parents:

Welcome to Northwest Elementary! We are looking forward to working with your son/daughter this academic year and beyond. We are proud to have an excellent staff, who will prepare your child for the 21st century.  Our school goal for this academic year is to improve reading fluency and comprehension and continue to improve all test scores.  Our staff has received professional development in Explicit Instruction and the Science of Reading. Explicit Reading Instruction is an approach based on research about the brain and how we learn. We feel that providing targeted intervention in the primary will help the entire district reach their goals.  Our personal goals as your Principals are as follows:  Improve building and district communication and continue academic teams that will communicate with our district and building level teams.  Furthermore, continue to offer constructive feedback and ensure explicit instruction.  Finally, ensure a positive and safe school environment.  We want all students to feel safe and enjoy their school experience.  This is a battle that we all have to face together! It takes our whole community to be successful! 

We welcome parents to volunteer and our community to help us any way they can!  We are all on the same team!  Please call and ask about our NES PTO!
